Palliative and End-of-Life Care - Introductory

Enrol in Module

Palliative care helps people with a life-limiting condition live as fully and as comfortably as possible. Palliative care is for people of any age. Part of palliative care is end-of-life care which is the health care that people receive in the last years, months and weeks of their lives.

Staff working in aged care work as part of a multidisciplinary team provide quality palliative care for older people living at home or in a residential aged care facility. The need for palliative and end-of-life care in aged care is growing as Australia's population ages and the number of people using aged care services increases.
